Stories From the Ground started as a way of giving my friends the opportunity to follow lines of reasoning which I find hard to explain. Most of my essays were inspired by my Dharma practice.
If you’d like to receive notifications when I post new essays, you can follow me from the homepage. I don’t write much and I’ll never update you about my life, so you can expect an email every 2 to 24 months.
I write these essays with care and attention, and I’m happy giving them away for free knowing that a small handful of people read them with careful attention. That said, if you happen to feel like supporting my blog I recently upgraded to a premium plan and would appreciate any amount to help cover these costs (a friend complained about the ads, and sure enough when I disabled my ad blocker and visited my site it was rather horrible–unless you’re in the market for quick dementia cures and cheap hearing aids–so now things should be ad-free).
However the best way to support me will always be to read and, if you feel compelled/inspired, to comment. It brings me joy knowing I’ve helped spread interesting (and hopefully helpful) ideas, and the act of writing inclines my mind towards healthy thoughts.
I hope you’ve enjoyed your visit here, and if you want to chat further don’t hesitate to email me directly at tristanflock@gmail.com. May you be well.

Dear Tristan,
You are doing a great job, thank you so much for the invaluable content you publish on evolutionary psychology – a highly underrated topic people talk about. I am the founder and Editor-in-Chief of one of the largest popular science websites in Turkey called “Tree of Evolution”, and we generate content in various fields in science, mainly on evolutionary biology but in other topics as well. We loved your post titled “What Good Is Evolutionary Psychology?” on Quillette and one of our translators wanted to publish it in Turkish. Would you mind it if we translated it and posted it on evrimagaci.org? More than 90% of our content is original, but we try to ask and get permission of the authors before we translate for that smaller 10%. We believe it will contribute to the Turkish-speaking audience a lot. Also, obviously, we will use your name as the author and give all the proper links to your blog and Quillette post.
Thank you so much!

Hello and thank you for the kind words! I would be more than happy for you to translate and publish my post (and the editors at Quillette are fine with this). However, may I ask that you send me the translation before publishing it? That way, my Turkish friend can read it to me so I can make sure the message stays consistent with my intent. You can email me at tristanflock@gmail.com.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Tristan,
I found your articles on Aero and Quilette extremely refreshing. I’m in a place where I’m looking for fresh, informed, and reasonable voices that are not unhinged by either extreme of the dialectic right now. Thank you for being that in the world right now. We need more voices like yours!
